Having a live band perform at your celebration is sure to make a unforgettable night and get everybody dancing. A Ceili band will come complete together with a caller to teach the dancers in the steps they need to carry out to each song. He will start off by giving a brief introduction for the next song and talk about the steps that go with it and call out directions once the music is being performed. To start with the steps will be quite easy so that everyone is able to be confident with them but the pace is sure to pick up later in the night.
While Ceili bands are securely rooted in the Celtic custom, barn dance bands and Hoedown bands originate from the other side of the pond. However there are many similarities between the two with both of them based on mostly traditional music with a caller calling the steps.
You can have a Ceili or a Hoedown in almost any place you like as long as there’s enough room for people to get up and boogie and have a great time.
